  • Author: Thomas
  • Total Time: 2 hours 10 mins– 2 hours 40 mins

Description

Crock-Pot Cinnamon Roll Casserole is a deliciously indulgent breakfast or dessert that combines the rich, sweet flavor of cinnamon rolls with a custard-like, maple-infused egg mixture. The layers of soft, pillowy cinnamon rolls soak up the egg mixture, creating a warm, gooey, and comforting dish. Topped with creamy icing, this casserole is both easy to make and incredibly satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cans of cinnamon rolls (12 oz each)
  • 4 eggs
  • 1/2 cup of milk
  • 3 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

1️⃣ Prepare the cinnamon rolls: Open the cans of cinnamon rolls and set the icing packets aside for later. Using a knife or pizza cutter, cut each cinnamon roll into quarters.

2️⃣ Prepare the crock-pot: Spray the bottom and sides of your crock-pot with non-stick cooking spray to prevent sticking.

3️⃣ Layer the cinnamon rolls: Place a layer of the quartered cinnamon rolls at the bottom of the crock-pot.

4️⃣ Mix the egg mixture: In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and ground cinnamon until well combined.

5️⃣ Pour the egg mixture: Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layer of cinnamon rolls in the crock-pot, ensuring all pieces are coated.

6️⃣ Add another layer: Place the remaining quartered cinnamon rolls on top of the egg mixture.

7️⃣ Drizzle icing: Drizzle one of the icing packets over the top layer of cinnamon rolls.

8️⃣ Cook: Cover the crock-pot with its lid and cook on low for 2 to 2 ½ hours, or until the casserole is fully cooked and the cinnamon rolls are soft.

9️⃣ Finish and serve: After cooking, remove the lid and drizzle the second icing packet over the top. Serve immediately, and enjoy with a glass of milk if desired.

Notes

  • You can use any type of cinnamon rolls (with or without icing) for this recipe, but the icing adds a nice touch of sweetness.
  • For a more indulgent flavor, substitute the maple syrup with brown sugar or add some chopped nuts to the layers.
  • This casserole is great for breakfast or a cozy brunch, and leftovers can be stored in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in the microwave.
